Show By Joan Janes The Governor's Conference on Aging will be held on May 12 at the Golden Age Center beginning at 9:30. The Utah State Division of Aging staff will be here to assist in planning programs for Senior Citizens for the upcoming year. These conferences provide Senior Citizens with the opportunity to express themselves regarding today's situations, such as: high medical costs, social security benefits, nutrition, inflation and cutbacks in Aging programs. The conference is for everyone who has concerns and shares in the Senior Citizens cause. Lunch will be served during the conference. The Property Tax abatement forms are available at the Golden Age Center. Anyone whose income is less than $10,000 yearly is eligible for a reduction in their property tax. Social Security representatives will be in Vernal on May 18 at the National Guard Armory. Bingo winners for the week of April 27 were Alice Mott with 9 games and Lena Mast with 8 games. The winner for the month of April was Alice Mott with 27 games and Lena Mast with 17 games. There was a big surprise awaiting Marie Hatch last Friday at the dance. The dance crowd wished her happy birthday with a surprise birthday cake provided by Mrs. Helen Poulsen and Sylvia Chew. |
