The first place winners are: front row, left to right, Julie Anne Jordan, Queeda Chew, MarKay Caldwell, Julie Johnson, Cem McMillan, Jean Lusty and back row, Paul Rasband, Daniel Troester, Bryan Snow, Lisa Ann Mecham, Mike Maio and Stephanie Anne Burnett. "All of the students whether ley win or not are Sterling Scholars in ieir own way at their high school. We re elated to have this activity take art in the Uintah Basin and especially t Union High School," stated Dennis lower, Sterling Scholar Committee lember. "We are able to provide cholarships of $200 to the winners and 100 cash prizes to the runners-up. They 'ill be entitled to scholarships in Utah nd Ricks College in Idaho. There is a t at stake for these students." Three Uintah High School seniors ocketed top honors. Daniel Troester, lintah, nabbed first place in the cience department and Richard G. toss, Union and Kim Jones, Wasatch1, fere runners-up. Queeda Chew, Uintah, osted top honors in the vocational ducation department and runners-up were Chris Wilkinson, Morgan and Tyler Page, South Summit. MarKay Caldwell, Uintah, netted first place in the music department and runners-up were Susan Bond, Wasatch and Kettie Lynn Olsen, Morgan. Uintah High School also garnered three runners-up. Allen Sowards, Uintah, was named as runner-up in the general scholarship division and Paul Rasband, Wasatch, nabbed first place. Marianne Marti, Union, was also named as a runner-up. Marrianne Kay, Uintah, and Wade Wallin, Park City, captured runrier-up honors in speech and drama and Mike Maio, Duchesne, placed first. RaeDawn Olbert, Uintah, and Mike Pohlsander, Altamont, netted runner-up honors in the foreign language class and the winner in the division was Union's Julie Ann Jordan. Park City's Stephanie Anne Burnett collected first place in the English and literature class and Nancy Hancock, Morgan and Linda Nichols, North Summit, were named as runners-up. Lisa Ann Mecham, Wasatch, won top honors in the mathematics class and Union's Udell Hunt and Park City's Paula Denise White nabbed runner-up honors. Jean Lusty, Union, captured first place in social science and Kristy Wright, Wasatch and Sondra Peterson, Duchesne, collected runner-up honors. Julie Johnson, Wasatch, picked up top honors in the visual arts department and Dennis Park, Duchesne and Christian Rosel Fasy, North Rich, nabbed runners-up honors. Cem McMillan, Morgan, was the top winner in homemaking. Annette Lewis, Duchesne and Tamera Lynn Erickson, Wasatch, were named as runners-up. Bryan Snow, Union, earned first place in business education and Robyn Klungervik, Wasatch and Amber Brotherson, Altamont, nabbed runner-uphonors.
