Show Village bans handgun sale MORTON GROVE, ILL.-Village trustees of Morton Grove population 24,000 voted 5-1 to ban the sale of handguns and 4-2 to ban possession of handguns in their village. As far as Morton Grove trustees know it is the first village in the United States to ban both the sale and possession of handguns. A suit was immediately filed in the Cook County Circuit Court challenging the constitutionality of the new anti-gun law, by a village handgun owner, attorney at-torney Victor Quilici. Police said the ordinances will be difficult to enforce because the village had only voluntary handgun registration making it impossible to identify handgun owners. |
