Show Relief Shipment of Pork Aggregates 762 Cars .Harry L. Hopkins, Federal Emergency Em-ergency Relief Administration, announces an-nounces that 762 carloads of cured cur-ed pork aggregating 23,441,423 pounds, was shipped to relief administrations ad-ministrations in 48 states, the District Dis-trict of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the Virigin islands', during the period from October 3, to November Nov-ember 3. The shipments represent the first allotments of pork resulting from the swine-buying program of the Agricultural Adjustment Administration to reduce surpluses surplus-es depressing the swine market. The total allotments to the relief administrations in the above areas call for the shipment of an aggregate aggreg-ate of 3,344 cars before January 1. The schedule calls for the shipment ship-ment of 1,343 carloads in November. Novem-ber. Mr. Hopkins pointed out that the pork distribution is the first phase of the program of Federal Emergency Relief Administration, to increase relief to the needy unemployed un-employed to a more nearly adequate adequ-ate basis. Beef, butter and apples are listed for distribution soon. The state relief administration will continue to receive grants of federal fed-eral funds, as well as the shipments ship-ments of surplus commodities. |
