Show CHEAP AT ANY PRICE An example of what good farm cooperation can do is afforded by the cotton parity price plan recently re-cently put forward by the American Amer-ican Cotton Cooperative Association. Associa-tion. The plan represents an ambitious ambit-ious and well-considered means of bringing the cotton producer a better income. The great achievement achieve-ment of the Association is in bringing the plan to public notice and securing support for it. A great amount of favorable press comment has appeared. Economists Econo-mists and public officials nave spoken in favor of it, and the outlook out-look for its enactment grows constantly con-stantly brighter. That is the sort of thing the cooperative can do well - - lt is every bit as important as the work of buying and selling a farm product. Good co-ops occupy a unique position between producer, consumer and government. On the one hand, the farmer knows that they represent his Interests and are . working to better them, and government officials have had a hand in the making of practically practic-ally all farm legislation. They are extensively consulted when efforts ef-forts are made to solve agricultural agricul-tural problems. A dozen cooperatives, dealing in as many commodities, are doing similar work now. Their members are getting the best service they ever had - - service that, as the old saying has it, is cheap at any price. They deserve all the support sup-port they are getting and then some. |
