Show LOCAL BREEDER TO JOIN HOLSTEIN ASSOCIATION ' Dell Mecham, Mountain Home, Utah, is one of the 502 new breed-, breed-, crs of purebred Holstcin-Friesian cattle to be recommended for membership in the Holstein-Frie-sian Association of America during dur-ing November, 1933. At the next meeting of the Board of Directors Direct-ors his name will be added to the membership roll of over 32,000. This is five times the total membership mem-bership of the other four dairy breeds combined. Membership in the Holstein-Friesian Holstein-Friesian Association entitles breeders breed-ers of purebred Black-and-White cattle to register or transfer their animals at lower rates than for non-members in spite of the fact that the charges for registry and transfer are generally lower than those of any other dairy breed. The records of registration and transfer jof ownership are an aid to the guaranty of the animals recorded re-corded and help the owner or purchaser pur-chaser to build up his herd along the lines of proven breeding. This has resulted in the rapid expansion expan-sion of the Holstein breed from a total registration of 1,000,000 head in 1921 to 2,150,000 head now. 1 . r |
