Show Hew Board Selected in Grsnd For fight Against Drug Abuse Organization of the Monb Drug Advisory Board began last Tuesday with the selection selec-tion of seven members to serve on the board. Four alternates al-ternates were also selected. Chosen to serve on the Board were Dixie Barker, Bill Benge, Father Sandy Hampton Bruce Lawton, Rodney Rod-ney Phillips, Le-land Teeples, Dunne Wimmer. Alternates will be Bill Bacon, Ed Gough, Keiiy Halls and Dr. C. A. Raymond. As part of the organization of the Board, a division into three committees was made. These committees will be developing programs for their target groups and these programs pro-grams will be submitted to the advisory board for approval ap-proval and implementation. Committee number one will deal witn the prevention and education of drug dependencies, dependen-cies, with reference to children. chil-dren. The second committee will focus on prevention and education of alcohol and other drug dependencies with reference to youth. The final committee will center its at tntion on prevention education educa-tion treatment and rehabi.i-taiion rehabi.i-taiion of alcohol and other drug dependencies with reference ref-erence to adults. The next meeting of the group will be on Wednesday, Sept. 13, in the Grand County Courthou.se at 7:30 p.m. and persons interested in serving on one of these committees are invited to attend. |
