Show Elk Hunt Success Listed Here The annual elk hunt finished up Sunday with about 20 persons per-sons on the LaSal mountains bagging their game. Conservation Conser-vation .officer, Clair Davis reported that hunter success on the LaSals was over 10 per cent, comparable to other oth-er areas of the state. Inclement weather was named as part of the reason rea-son for the small kill. Although Al-though over 200 permits were sold locally, officer Davis reported re-ported that there were considerably con-siderably fewer hunters than that who actually went afield in the LaSals, making the success ratio per actual hunter hun-ter higher than the 10 per cent for the total number of permits. Most of those elk taken locally were mature bulls, Davis said, and manv hunters hun-ters reported seeing large numbers of tracks, although they did not actually get into the elk herd. |
