Show A new three-part exhibit is currently on display at the U-tah U-tah Museum of Natural History His-tory on the U of U campus in Salt Lake City through the end of October. Highlights of the exhibit are three panels detailing the observations made during Major John Wesley Wes-ley Powell's 1869-72 expeditions expedi-tions on the Green and Colorado Colo-rado Rivers. Photographs by J.K. Hillers, E.I. Beamanand H.G. Stephens provide the pictorial support for the 100 year old story. Also on display are four graphic gra-phic panels featuring the formation, for-mation, .structure and movement move-ment of sand dunes. Photos of the Navajo sandstone of titan's ti-tan's Zion Canyon serves to demonstrate how cross bedding bed-ding in ancient sand dunes took place. With much emphasis currently cur-rently being placed on finding new petroleum reserves, a timely exhibit featuring titan's ti-tan's Green River Oil Shale resources is also part of the special exhibit at the Museum. Mu-seum. The Museum is open to the public from 9:30-5:30 seven days a week. |
