Show David Erickson Visits College . . . David Erickson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Erickson, spent April 4th and 5th visiting visit-ing Colorado School of Mines at Golden, as a special guest of the school. He was met at the Staple-ton Staple-ton International Airport in Denver by Mark Norden and was taken to the school for a 2-day tour of the school. On Friday he attended a mining exhibition of drilling, track-laying track-laying (In a mine) ore-car loading, etc. On Saturday, a talent show brought out the social and fine arts side of the show. David has maintained a 3.45 average for the four years of his high school, and is now Americanism Club President after being Vice-President last year. He was Class President Pre-sident in his Freshman year and President of the Model UN during his Sophomore year. He has been on the track team, played basketball and football all 4 years ofhlshigh school. David's father works at the Missile Base, and last year the family purchased a home at Frulta, Colorado. Mrs. Erickson, Marilyn and Kenneth Ken-neth moved to Frulta, but David and his father remained remain-ed In Green River, living on base. David has an ROTC scholarship schol-arship to the University of Colorado, but he liked what he saw at the Colorado School of Mines, and will make his decision on which school to attend before the school year next fall. He will continue working at the Desert Edge store here this summer. |
