Show Police Crackdown Resulted In Arrest of Eighteen A total of 22 people were arrested by Moab Police over the weekend, 18 of them juveniles ju-veniles who were charged with illegal possession of beer. On April 20 at 3 a.m., City Police with a search warrant war-rant entered the home of Brandon L. Merett, 521 Bo-wen. Bo-wen. Circle, assisted by the Utah Highway Patrol, and Merett, Me-rett, was charged with illegal possession of a controlled substance. Other charges were pending Tuesday. Max Woodward was arrested arrest-ed April 19 by the city police, charged with illegal possession posses-sion of acontrolled substance, and on the same day a juvenile juve-nile was arrested, charged with illegal possession of a controlled substance and referred re-ferred to Juvenile Court. Leslie H. Woodward was charged April 21 with selling beverages to a minor. And over the weekend 18 juveniles were arrested by police and highway patrol, charged with illegal possession of beer. Two accidents were investigated inves-tigated by police during the week. On April 17 at 12:15 p.m. Chris Gerber was drlv- ing onto the highway at the intersection of 1st West and 1st North in a 1972 Hornet, and hit a 1973 Ford driven by Robert Davis. There resulted re-sulted approximately $200 damage to each vehicle, and Gerber was cited for Improper Impro-per lookout causing an accident. acci-dent. On April 18 at 6 p.m. on 1st South, Art Hunsaker was backing a 1972 Mercury and backed into a parked 1975 Chevrolet pickup belonging to John D. Adams, doing ap proximately $100 to the pickup pick-up and $150 to thy Mercury. Hunsaker was cited for improper im-proper backing causing an accident. The Visitor Center was again entered sometime over the weekend by a person or persons sliding open an unlocked un-locked window. Nothing was reported missing. Vandalism was reported at St. Francis Episcopal Church occurring over the weekend in the form of a broken window. |
