Show Lake Level Being Held At Powell In compliance with the injunction ordered by the P.S. District Court on February 27. 1973. Lake Powell will be kept below the lowest level of Rainbow Bridge National Na-tional Monument, elevation eleva-tion J.OO'i feet. To make space for anticipated runoff, the lake is now beintf lowered by increasing in-creasing electrical generation gen-eration and consequent water discharges. Flows at Lees Ferry w ill av erage around 28. -000 c.f.s. during weekdays week-days around the clock and will average about 27.000 c.f.s. on Saturdays Satur-days and 22.000 c.f.s. on Sunday s. The release from Flaming Gorge Dam has been reduced to about 800 c.f.s. and the release from Navajo Nava-jo Dam is being held to 500 c.f.s. Releases from Glen Canyon. Flaming Gorge, and Nava jo Dams will continue at levels listed until about July 10. or until the snow-melt snow-melt runoff has passed. At that time, the patterns pat-terns of discharge will be adjusted to the summer sum-mer release pattern. Expected flows will be posted at both Lees Ferry Fer-ry and Phantom Ranch. |
