State director commends Moab BLM employees At a recent Bureau of Land Management Employees Meeting, Mee-ting, Gene Day, the District Manager, presented Cliff Franklin and Neil Armantrout with a Letter of Appreciation signed by the State Director, and a monetary award. Cliff and Neil developed an agreement between Moab District and the State of Utah Division of Health, whereby additional water quality data from Southeastern Utah could be collected and analyzed. The BLM provided personnel to collect water samples and send them to Salt Lake City for analysis. This permitted conducting con-ducting sampling not otherwise other-wise possible for the Bureau because of a shortage of funds. It provided a way to get . samples for the State of Utah that they needed, but which was impossible because of a lack of personnel. The agreement provided savings to both organizations by sharing cost and effort, and extended capabilities of both the BLM and the State Division of Health to carry out these mandated tasks. Moreover, More-over, working with the State Health Laboratory also provides provid-es an excellent opportunity for BLM to coordinate its sampling sampl-ing and planning program with the State. |
