Show Maggie Wilde joins Gov. Matheson's staff Margaret L. Wilde, a 32-year-old professional journalist, journal-ist, joins a select; group of women in government who have become press secretaries secretar-ies to various governors of states. Ms. Wilde, "Maggie" to most everyone who knows her, was selected Friday by Governor Scott M. Matheson to replace Mike Youngren. There were only four female fe-male press assistants to governors gov-ernors in all the states and territories until Matheson's decision. She is the first woman ever named to the Utah post. "She's well qualified," said the Governor in making the announcement, "and has the kind of personality and drive which will fit well with my administration." Wilde has a BA in Journalism Journal-ism from the University of Utah and has been a teaching assistant with that department. depart-ment. She has worked as a general assignment reporter and copy editor for the 'Salt Lake Tribune and was a public relations specialist for the Community Services Council and the Women's Resource Center at the University Uni-versity of Utah. Since April, 1977, Wilde has been Public Information Officer for the Utah Department of Transportation. Trans-portation.
