The action supposedly takes place in the Grand Canyon. The company plans to do some shooting in the Grand later this summer. River movie being shot currently in Moab area A feature-length movie entitled "Savage Water,," was being shot at the Apache Motel Monday and Tuesday of this week. From Moab, the film company (Talking Pictures, Pic-tures, of Salt Lake City) will move on location in Cataract Canyon. Producer Ray Smith explained that the movie "would be kind of like 'Deliverance'." Smith went on to say that the film would depict a group of people on a raft trip through the Grand Canyon Can-yon beset with accidents which would later turn out not to be accidents. "It'll be an Agatha Christie-type Christie-type mystery," Smith said. The characters on the river trip are typical. Typical for the movies that is. They include a handsome, hand-some, square-jawed river guide with perfect hair, a beautiful, clean-cut heroine, her-oine, an Arab (complete with costume), an affluent Black in a three piece suit and Cadillac, a swinging single (male), and a pneumatic young blond lady with an imposing profile. Though set in Grand Canyon, most footage of rapid running will be shot in Cataract Canyon, although al-though the company does plan to do some shooting in Grand Canyon later.
