Show Fred Sheckler Memorial To Be August 7 Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, August 7 in the Moab LDS church at 2 p.m. for Fred Sheckler, long-time resident of Moab. He was born October 23, 1894 in Washington City, Kansas and passed away August 2, 1976 at Veterans ; Administration Hospital in ! Grand Junction, after a lengthy leng-thy illness. I He was married to Anna M. j Wendt on April 14, 1914, and j she preceded him in death on June 10, 196U. 1 he deceased served in the Army during the Philippine war from 1911 to 1914 and in the Navy from 1943 to 1945. He was an electrician and had been employed at the mill in Monticello and at atomic reactors in Idaho and Washington. Wash-ington. In 1956 he retired and moved to Moab where he pursued his hobby of rock collecting. He was a member of the LDS church. Survivors include daugh ters, Kalhryn Tucker, Bedrock Colo.; June Bailey, Monticello; Monticel-lo; and Lillian Hatton of Denver, Colo. Sons, John Sheckler. Kellogg. Idaho and Glen Sheckler, Lewiston, Idaho, Id-aho, 17 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. Two grandchildren preceded him in dcalh. The family has suggested donations to the Allen Memorial Memor-ial Hospital Solarium Fund in lieu of flowers. |
