James Carroll Goney appeared ap-peared on a fugitive complaint from Darke, Co., Ohio, charging charg-ing the crime of aggravated burglary. He was advised of the charges pending there and voluntarily signed a waiver of extradition to go back to face the charges. Five cases were heard in City Court July 26. John Elliott Austin, Jr., Fairview, Ut., appeared on a charge of driving while intoxicated. He entered a plea of guilty and was sentenced to pay a $200 fine and in default of payment to serve 40 days in jail. Kenneth Carlton McDougall appeared on a charge of driving while intoxicated. He entered a plea of guilty and was sentenced to pay a $200 fine, with $100 of the fine suspended. Daryl Eugene Meador appeared ap-peared on a charge of threatening with or using a deadly weapon in a fight or quarrel. He had originally appeared ap-peared July 20, entering a plea of innocent. However, when he appeared for trial he changed his plea to guilty. He was sentenced to serve 60 days in jail, with the jail sentence suspended, and was placed on probation for one year. Edward Stearn appeared for preliminary hearing with his attorney David Paul White, , Salt Lake City, on a charge of distributing a controlled substance sub-stance for value. After the evidence was presented he was bound over to District Court to appear Sept. 14, and his $1,000 bond was continued. contin-ued. In addition Stearn has been charged with another count of distribution of a controlled substance for value, however that complaint was dismissed on motion of County Attorney Bill Benge. Perry Allen Potts appeared on a charge of theft of a vehicle belonging to Elizabeth Lawrence. Law-rence. Attorney Bruce Halli-day Halli-day was appointed to represent repre-sent him and bond of $3,000 was set. Preliminary hearing was scheduled for Aug. 27 at 3 p.m. Brent R. Lee and Dennis Smith appeared July 27 on amended complaints charging dispensing a substance or material in lieu of controlled substance offered or agreed. After evidence was heard on both of these cases they were bound over to District Court to appear Sept. 14. Bond of SI, 000 each was continued. Attorney Harry Snow represented repre-sented Lee; and Attorney Bruce Halliday represented Smith. Robert John Welch appeared ap-peared July 28 on a charge of driving while intoxicated. He entered a plea of guilty and was sentenced to pay a fine of $250 or in default of payment to serve 50 days in jail. Rick Lee Henneigh appeared ap-peared July 28 on a charge of distributing a controlled substance sub-stance for value. Attorney Snow represented him. After the evidence was presented he was bound over to District Court to appear Sept. 14. His bond had been set at $1,000, and being unable to post bond he was remanded to the custody of the sheriff. Henneigh was also charged with possession of a controlled substance. Attorney Snow requested that Judge Crist disqualify himself in this case on the ground that he could not hear the case impartially. This request was granted and Judge A. John Ruggeri will hear the case Aug. 4. Judge Ruggeri will also hear the case of the State of Utah vs. Ray Beeson on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. Judge Crist also disqualified himself from hearing hear-ing this case on the same ground, on request of Bee-son's Bee-son's attorney, Steven Cook, Salt Lake City. Rick Robson appeared July 29 on a charge of driving during revocation. He entered a plea of guilty and was sentenced to pay a fine of $400 and serve 6 months probation. Katherine Renfro appeared July 30 oh a charge of driving while intoxicated. She entered a plea of guilty and was sentenced to pay a $200 fine and serve 40 days in jail, the jail sentence suspended on payment of the fine. A number of persons appeared ap-peared in City Court Aug. 2. Kath Ann Dull Tangreen was charged with distribution of a controlled substance for value. After evidence wa presented in her preliminary hearing, the case was dismissed on motion of the defending attorney. Scott Richard Bock appeared on a charge of driving while intoxicated. He pled guilty and was fined $200. He was given a 40 day jail sentence, to be suspended upon payment of the fine. , Larry Vigil appeared for preliminary hearing on a charge of distributing a controlled substance for value. After the evidence was presented presen-ted he was bound over to District Court on a charge of distributing a controlled substance sub-stance without value. Bond y was set at $1,000. Michael Dull and Eddie Green both appeared for preliminary hearings on charges char-ges of distributing a controlled substance for value. In both cases, after the evidence was presented the defendants were bound over to District Court on the charges. Bond for each was set at $1,000. Tony Vigil appeared for arraignment of charges of public intoxication, disorderly conduct and interfering with an arrest by a law enforcement official. He entered a plea of innocent and requested an attorney be appointed for him. Harry Snow was appointed. Harry Steven Taylor appeared ap-peared on charges of illegal possession of a controlled substance, public intoxication and disorderly conduct. He pled innocent to the possession posses-sion charge and guilty to the two other charges. The possession posses-sion charge was dismissed, and he was fined $150. Dennis Bailey appeared on two separate charges of distributing a controlled substance sub-stance for value. He was bound over to District Court on these charges, after evidence was presented, and $1,000 bail was set. David Hotz appeared Aug. 3 on a charge of distributing a controlled substance for value. After the evidence was presented pre-sented he was bound over to District Court on the charge. He was released on $1,000 bond. John Pat Unger appeared on a charge of distributing a controlled substance for value. He was bound over to District Court on a reduced charge of distributing a controlled substance sub-stance without value. He was released on $1,000 bail.
