Show Local Area Legislators Well Placed on Committees Announcements of the various committee appointments appoint-ments in the Utah House and Senate were completed complet-ed Monday, as the 1971 session of the Utah Legislature Legis-lature moved into its second sec-ond week of business. Local area representatives representa-tives will find their main committee work in areas of high concern to southeastern south-eastern Utah. Both Sen. Ralph A. Preece (R-Ver-nal) and Rep. Kenneth Siliiman (R-Green River) will serve on the Appropriations Appro-priations Subcommittee on Development Services. Sen. Preece, as chairman of the subcommittee, will direct investigations into appropriation needs for all of the Development Services areas of state government, go-vernment, which include) the Utah Travel Council, Industrial Promotion Commission Com-mission and others. Sen. Preece will also serve as a member of the Agriculture and Natural Resources committee, Political Pol-itical Subdivisions committee com-mittee and Transportation and Public Safety committee com-mittee in the current session ses-sion in the Utah Senate. Silliman will additionally addi-tionally serve as a mem, ber of the Highways com. imittee, Industrial Develop, ment committee and Labor Icomnuibtee in the House of Representatives Every member of the Le-iigslature Le-iigslature will be on some subcommittee of the Joint Appropriations Committee, chaired by Sen. Wallace H. Gardner (R-Spanish Fork). His co-chairman is Rep. D. Leon Reese (D-Magna). |
