Show Collision Snarls Traffic on Main Street A rather spectacular accident ac-cident occured at the corner cor-ner of Main and First South streets Jan. 18 at )4:30 p.m. involving two trucks and a cow, and snarlmg rush-hour traffic forced to make lengthy detours around the intersection. inter-section. A 1966 Ford one-ton truck driven by Harland ,Trl!mble, and carrying a cow in the bed, was driving dri-ving east on First South and was struck broadside broad-side by a 1971 Chevrolet half - ton pickup driven by Archie Fancher, La Sal, iwho was traveling south on Main Street. Trimble's truck was tipped tip-ped on its side, and the cow, uninjured, ran free and was captured by two boys and tied to a tree seme distance away. Damages Dam-ages were approximately $1205 to the Fancher vehicle, ve-hicle, which he had bought new just a half hour before, be-fore, and had only 11 miles mil-es on the speedometer. The ff'rimble vehicle sustained about $400 damage. Fancher was cited for failure to yield right of way on a red light, causing caus-ing an accident.
