Forest Service will be holding a joint public meeting in Price on March 22, at 7:30 p.m. in the Carbon County Courthouse, large courtroom, according to Gene Day, Moab District Manager. The purpose of the meeting will be to explain the analysis process used to evaluate the EMARS (Energy Minerals Activity Recommendation System) Sys-tem) coal nominations and discuss the proposed coal leasing recommendations, to be further analyzed in the Regional Coal EIS. The public is encouraged to attend and help identify impacts and make recommendations recom-mendations for solving identified identi-fied conflicts. Public input from the meeting will help BLM and Forest Service managers identify proposed lease tracts, which would be cycled into the Regional Coal Environmental Impact Statements. |
