Show Joinf Funeral Services Held Wednesday for Moab Youths Joint funeral services were held Wednesday, 'March 16 for Edmond Lee "Shorty" Turner and Tracy D. Tibbetts, who died after a traffic accident on March 12, 1977. Born in Moab, Shorty and Tracy were . second cousins; both were graduated from Grand County High School in 1976, and they shared many common interests. inter-ests. Tracy was born June 18, 1958 to Rodney Gale and Marilyn Johnson Tibbetts, who survive. He was a member f the 1975 Moab Red Devils state Playoff football team, and an avid outdoorsman. His other survivors include 3 brothers, Rod, James and Greg, a sister, Tiffany, and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Alvie Johnson, Moab. Shorty was born Sept. 14, 1958. He j enjoyed athletics, was active all through his school years in sports programs, and was voted the most valuable player in , Pony League in 1973. He had been a ' member of Interact and the school band, was fond of playing the drums. Survivors include his father, George Turner, mother, Joy Johnston Turner Mason, stepfather, Richard "Bud" Mas- son, 4 brothers, Randy Bowden, in the U.S. Air Force, Rick and Mark Mason, Salt Lake City, and Marty Mason, Moab; 2 sisters, Marcia Griswold, Moab, and Regina Farmer, Redvale, Co.; grandmothers, grand-mothers, Mrs. June Johnston, Moab, and Mrs. Minnie Turner, California. Both boys enjoyed woodwork, and they were employed by Mel Maynes at the LDS Church construction project at the time of their deaths. Services were held in the Community Baptist Church with Rev. John Watson officiating. Pallbearers for Tracy were Jim Trusty, Randy Day, Rick Martin, Kevin Gilliland, Clark Wilson and Richard Rich-ard Hawks. Pallbearers for Shorty were Terrell Sebastian, Ray Couch, Juan Loveridge, Jerry MacAdams, Klint Hut-ton Hut-ton and Jerry Royer. Honorary pallbearers for both were Mark Roberts, Mark Gramlich, Marlin Wyatt, Raymond Salazar, Merrill Noyes, . Jim Chavez, Don Flynn, Brad Turner and Ross Tabberer. Rick Mason dedicated Tracy's grave and John Andersen dedicated Shorty's grave. Committal service and interment was in Grand Valley Cemetery under the direction of Hefner's Turner Funeral Home. |
