Show Guidebooks Coming In Time for Travel Yec Wasatch Publishers is pleased to announce a new series of practical guide books covering various aspects of travel and outdoor recreation in the scenic canyon country of southeast .crn Utah. Most of the books will be under the authorship of well known writer photographer V. A. (Fran) Barnes who lives in that part of the state and has specialized in its many attractions attrac-tions for the past ten years. The first of the series, .scheduled for release April 1, 1977, are: "Canyon County Hiking & Natural History," by F. A. Barnes, 17(5 pages, $.'t.9Tj. This volume will list all established hiking trails and many primitive primi-tive hiking routes within the wild canyons and mountains of southeastern Utah. It will also cover in some detail the geology, life communities and wildlife of the region. The book will be profusely illustrated illus-trated with maps, sketches, and photographs. "Canyon Country Scenic Itoads," by F. A. Barnes, 72 pages, $1.95. This volume will list and describe the scenic roads of canyon country that can be toured by standard highway vehicles, with special emphasis upon Arches and Canyonlands National Parks and vicinity. It will also cover the subject of traveler facilities, facili-ties, services and supplies, plus brief descriptions of the region's national and state parks and monuments. It will contain two detailed maps and many photographs. These two books will be available at major retail outlets out-lets throughout Utah, and within the adjacent Four Corners Cor-ners states, soon after their release. Individual copies may be ordered directly from the publisher by mail for the noted prices, postpaid.
