Participation Partici-pation was good in all events through the day, and the Chamber thanked everyone involved in staging the event for making it a success. Guest speaker at this week's meeting was Moab Mavor William D. McDougald. He commented about the new tax that has been raised in Grand County and Moab City this past month. He said that the tax (principally on sales) was originated in 1954 at lA and has been raised ' this year by Utah lawmakers. Local merchants collect about eighty to ninety per cent of this tax in sales. The Chamber asked the Mayor to check into the possible charging of a fee to those businesses coming into the community from out of state or otherwise for the 1 :. , T r- ' V . I hesnady Moab City Park got a real workout over the weekend, t lrsl' on Thursday, Moabites flocked to the Park for 24th of July activities.
