Made Us Feel at Home, Visitors Said of Moab, "Friendly people and Mo ab's little'lantem trees' made us feel so much at home," was the statement of two Japanese visitors in Moab. Shizu Yamanouchi and Michiko Mi-chiko Isobe were here as part of a 2-week tour of the United States. They stopped in Moab to spend 3 days in the Chester Warren home, and were amazed at the "beautiful land with no houses." After a hike in the Arches area they said they were "totally overwhelmed by the work of nature." The many pictures they took and bought will be used in their teaching activities. Shizu teaches in a Japanese public school in Tokyo, and Michiko teaches in a Christian girls school, also in the Tokyo area. From Moab they flew to Denver, Philadelphia, Burlington, Burling-ton, Vt., Washington, D.C., Charlotte, N. C, Los Angeles and home by way of Haw aii. In Moab they were especially especial-ly impressed with the beautiful school buildings and the wide, wide streets. They expressed thanks to the business people and especially to Man,' Williams Wil-liams of Tag-a-Long Tours for being so kind to a couple of foreign travelers, who said they really felt much less foreign after their short stay in the Moab area. While in Japan last year, the Warrens were guests in the Isobe home. |
