Show Letters to the Editor . . . Dear Sam: On behalf of the Senior Citizens in Moab or the Moabites who have dedicated their aims to all elderly persons, or persons in need of compassion and a helping hand, I write this letter. They work, eat and dance, and sing together, thus creating a much needed assurance their abilities abili-ties are wanted and appreciated. appreciat-ed. They have earned the right to get together to discuss the past and feel sorry for the future generations. ; They assist each other in ; many ways. They know who to call when they need a ride to the hospital, store or post '. office; a screen door fixed or '. . the plumbing repaired. They ' know where to get a meal, a '. few vegetables from the garden, a few flowers, a card, a phone call, a smile, and someone who will listen and understand. These people are not looking for handouts, charity or for someone to feel sorry for them. They would appreciate compassion, tolerance, respect, re-spect, love and honor, and the right to be heard. These are all available at the Senior Citizens Home in Moab. There are chairmen appointed 10 phone, send cards, visit, and contact all elderly persons in Moab and make their needs known to the right people. They go to Senior Citizens not for. a workshop, but to socialize and enjoy each other. Visitors arc always welcome. ' Come and join them some time when you feel the world has forgotten you. Yoli will go home with a new lease on life. Mary I'oguc The Moabites |
