Show Aging Council Formed Here By County A group of 13 Moab senior citizens and an official from the division of aging met with the Grand County Commission t Monday to discuss implemen-: implemen-: tition of a program on aging here. Linda Hofeling, aging planner plan-ner for the District VL1 Division of Aging. Price, came to explain a government grant thit is available for local programs for senior citizens. , The programs, she said, include mobile meals, a i monthly dinner, escort servic- f es, outreach, and transportat- : ion. After a discussion among those present, a vote was taken and 8 citizens voted to accept the proeram for one year only; 2 voted not to apply for funds at all. The Commission voted to adopt an ordinance to create a Grand County Council on Aging. The ordinance is to spell out the constituant membership of the council, terms of office, purpose of the council and duties and responsibilities respon-sibilities of the council. A public hearing on the matter is scheduled for Sept. 2 at 2 p.m. |
