Show '75 Waterfowl Seasons Set by Wildlife Div. Utah's general waterfowl hunting season has been set for Oct. 4 through Jan. 4, 1976, under action by the Wildlife Board last week. Good duck production on Canadian provinces has allowed allow-ed a more liberal bag limit this year than last. Hunters will be allowed seven ducks daily, 14 possession, with exception of canvasbacks and redheads. No more than two redheads or two canvasbacks or one of each daily may be taken, and no more than four singly or in the aggregate may be in possession. posses-sion. Regulations regarding the canvasback are most changed from last year when only one could be taken daily or in possession. A daily bag limit of five and possession limit of ten is set for American, red-breasted ( and hooded mergansers, sing- I ly or in the aggregate of all V species. These limits, however, howev-er, may not include more than one hooded merganser daily nor more than two hooded mergansers in possession. Wilson's snipe and swan seasons will run concurrently with the general waterfowl season. Bag and possession limits for snipe are eight and 16 respectively. There will be 2,500 permits available for swans. Permit applications will be taken until Sept. 11 with the drawing slated for Sept. 17. The goose season in Grand County was set for Oct. 1 1 to Dec. 14. The bag limit for Canada geese will be two daily, two possession, except in Daggett and Uintah counties coun-ties w here it w ill be one goose daily or possession. The snow goose bag limit will be three daily and three possession. Shooting for ducks will begin at 12 noon on Oct. 4. Waterfowl shooting hours thereafter will be from one-half one-half hour before sunrise until sunset except for Nov. 1 when shooting will begin at 8 a.m. |
