Show Coutify Permits Roll Firm To Cross Rooi The D&RG Railroad Co. was granted permission by the Grand county Commission Commis-sion this week to construct, operate and maintain a standard guage railroad track over and across the Dead Horse Point access road west of the existing railroad crossing. County Clerk Elmer E. Dravage, said the track addition ad-dition would be used as a siding and parking facility by the railroad company. The Commission, at Monday's Mon-day's meet, accepted the bid of the Rocky Mountain Machine Co., to supply a new road grader. The low bid was 25,082 net cash; 523,669 net after trade. Other Oth-er bidders were Arnold Machinery Ma-chinery Co. and Wheeler Machinery Co. Comtnissioner Fred Beye-ler Beye-ler enter an objection to the letter sent to the Utah Employment Service by the Commission last week, requesting re-questing that a labor force survey of Grand county be made in an effort to have the county designated as an Economic Development area. ar-ea. Commissioner Beyeler said he was not in accord with the contents of the letter. Edd E. Provonsha requested re-quested that the county coordinate co-ordinate with existing City Curfew ordinances so law enforcement agencies can cooperate during curfew hours. The Commission agreed ag-reed to contact County Attorney At-torney Harry Snow concerning con-cerning legality of such an ordinance. A bid by John Causer to spray the Courthouse and Hospital roofs with aluminum alum-inum asphalt emulsion was rejected, upon advice of the architect of the hospital building. Taken under consideration con-sideration was another bid by Mr. Causer to paint the trim on the hospital for the sum of $434.40. Jack Day requested a lease on property on the north side of the Colorado river, adjacent to the river bridge. The Commission agreed to check with the County Attorney, and the lease agreement with the Burau of Land Management concerning land use. County' Sheriff Haskell Bowman met with the Commission Com-mission to discuss continued contin-ued disturbances at Lions Club River Park. All future violators apprehended will be fully prosecuted. City Marshal Hicks of Green River, has been deputized dep-utized by the Sheriff for part time work. The Sheriff Sher-iff was authorized to pay him on that basis. The Commission will consider con-sider improvements at Canyonlands Can-yonlands Airport, administration admini-stration building. Cost of moving the cooling system from the inside of the building buil-ding to an outside location by Dickerson Sheet Metal is $225. To transfer the air conditioner to the roof of the building would cost S325. The cooling system also needs 3 exhaust louvers louv-ers at a cost of $125. A pay raise from $425 to S450 per month was granted grant-ed to the Sheriff's deputy, Junior Garlett. Kenny Allred was appointed ap-pointed to serve on the Grand county Zoning and Planning Board, effective immediately. |
