Show Final City Cleanup Day Scheduled This Saturday The final Moab City Cleanup Clean-up Campaign is scheduled for Saturday morning, April 1st, chairman Rod Phillips has announced. All persons willing to assist as-sist are requested to meet at the Moab City Council Chambers at 8 a.m., equipped equip-ped if possible with pitchforks, pitch-forks, rakes, or other cleanup clean-up equipment. A concentrated effort will be made to haul away junk cars throughout the city. Anyone having one to dispose dis-pose of may call the city offices, of-fices, or Mr. Phillips. Again pickup trucks will icruise the city gathering trash collected at private residences, and weed burners burn-ers will toe in use on the remaining re-maining ditches and vacant areas. Lunch will again oe served serv-ed at noon by the Woman's Literary Club, on the vacant lot directly south of the Moab Mo-ab National Bank on Main Street. Mr. Phillips extended thanks to those assisting with the initial cleanup drive two weeks ago, and hopes for a repeat performance perform-ance this Saturday. A larger turnout of adults is hped for this Saturday, he said. Although Saturday will be the last scheduled public cleanup, the campaign will continue throughout the year, he noted. After Saturday Satur-day areas not maintained by property owners will by cleaned by city personnel, and the owners billed for the service. Mr. Phillips requested that any organizations making arrangements to take over the log cabin on Center St. tentatively scheduled fr demolition, get in touch with him prior to Saturday. |
