Show RAY CON. CARRYING ON ITS UNDERGROUND WORK EXTENSIVELY Ss An Inspection will be made next week of the Fay Consolidated concentrating plant at Hay den by U C. Jack ling and his engineers. This mill Js modeled after the fish Copper plants, and by reason of the advantage gained by the experiments experi-ments at the L'tah plants, the new Hay mill haa been commissioned with probably the areairat success attained by a concentrating con-centrating plant of tltls type from the out Met. Three units of the plant are now oterutlng and treating an average of about S00A tons dally and securing a recovery re-covery of better than 70 per cent. This showing Is all the more gratifying In view of the fact that the tlrst concentrating concen-trating plants operated oa the low grade porphyries made recoveries of from t to 10 per cent lower than this, and their managers were well satisfied with the results obtained at that time. The oompu.iy will commlaslon the remaining re-maining portions of tlie plant as fast as the nw unite are brought up to capacity. ca-pacity. By the end of the year it la believed be-lieved conditions will warrant the company com-pany operating the mill at Its normal capacity of K0O0 tons daily. Probably before the mill Is placed In position to treat this amount of ore, the furnaces of, The gmeTttng plant will le blown In. but the management desires first to get a good stock pile on hand to Insure run-ilng run-ilng the smelter without any delay. With Its own mill, smelter and railroad, the company la well fortified against an) delaya In product nan. No further effort haa been made by the marutgement to add to Its already large tonnage, previously blocked out In the mine. The underground development work haa been vtgorousl y carried on. New atopes have been opened ifp. extensions exten-sions of levels, drlfta and crosscuts hav been made. Some lde of the extensive operations can be gained from the fact that during the past six ,nvnth an average av-erage of one and one-half ml lea of open- i tnga has been made each month. Operations for the first three months ;of this estate promise to be very successful. suc-cessful. It la planned to Issue the first; i quarterly report, ending1 Heptember 30. j and covering operations In detail from the commencement of the mill run.
