They are, thousands of them, saying: "If things had been let alone, we would now be getting fair wages and as much coal aa we needed at fair prices." By what equity does Mr. Pinchot or his superiors claim a right to distress thousands of poor men in an icebound territory np under the arctic circle? Free government rests on the consent con-sent of the governed. Why is the present administration adminis-tration so anxious to alienate those who would like to be its friends? |
