Show ARRANGE PROGRAM OF FIREMEN'S OUTING Tha program for the annual convention conven-tion of the Utah state firemen's convention conven-tion to be held In Provo August 15. U and 1? has been completed by the committee com-mittee In charge. The convention will be called to order at 10:10 o'clock on the morning of the opening day and W. B. Ward, local chairman, will make the opening address. Other addrcssvs will be delivered and roll call will be had, after which committees will be named and the convention will oiganlae. Reports Re-ports of officers will be filed and Chief William H. Olore of the Salt Lake City fire department will read a paper on "Which Is the Most Practical for Fire Service, the Auto or the Horse?" Officers will be elected on the follow-I follow-I tng day. The local firemen wlii give an entertainment, beginning w1h parade, at 10:10 o'clock in the morning. Speeches and music will be had at the band stand and the Provo firemen will give an ex ; hihltlon drill. The program will be con-. con-. tinued at the fair grounds at 2 o'clock. I when an exhibition Are drill will be 1 given. Contests will then be conducted between the different ftrt departments of the state. There will be hose races against time for a silver trophy, quar ter-mHe relay rac s for hand hose teams, firemen's hub and hub races, coupling contests and a water fight. There will be a 120-yard race for firemen only and a Pompier ladder exhibition by the Salt Lake C!tv fire department. This will be followed bv a single ladder lad-der race and climbing contest, a- ladder climbing contest with nose and a rroe ror all motorcycle race. The convention will close with a grand ball at Mosart hall. On the last day of the convention there will he excursions on L'tah lake, to Provo canvon arid to other resorts and a general go aa you please entertainment of the guests by the dtlsens' committee. |
