A request has been sent to Mr. Roosevelt to appear and tell what he knows about tha taking tak-ing of the Tennessee Coal and Iron company by tha United States Steel corporation. cor-poration. John W. Gates, who was before the eommittee Saturday, contradieted practically prac-tically all the atatementa in Mr. Roosevelt's Roose-velt's letter to Attorney General Bonaparte, Bo-naparte, in which it wai set forth that E. H. Gary and H. C. Frick had volunteered volun-teered to avert a financial ditatter by taking over the ensl and iron company. Mr. Roosevelt will be asked to harmonize har-monize the apparent discrepancy. |
