This property now ' ranks with the bt in the district, and greater discoveries than the one mad' ' on Tuesday last are expected. In the main working tunnel on Ne- ' vada Douglas, at a point lo.-ated 20'o ' feet west of the fanmu Douglas hiil. . a sheer cliff "I" copper ore was found. averaging Jii per cent red metal. Doug las lull it a solid rftountain of copper ore. and owners of Nevada Douglas are certain by virtue of the recent discovery discov-ery that the immense hody of ore e tends to their property aud underlies it at all points. Two shafts were sunk ,i prrhnii nary work, on either side of the mam tunnel. Each shaft is fifty feet in depth Every foot of these workings, it is said, shows good ore averaging ." per cent. Tho showing continues all the -way to the bottom and increases with depth. In a crosscut leading to the main tunnel tho working went through a solid wall of copper ore averaging S per cent. This immense showing extends ex-tends all of the fifty feet in the cross cut, and appears on all sides. : This great discovery shows conclu siv'lv, it is argued, that the west end of Nevada Douglas is as good in everv was as the eat end of Douglas Hiil. The strike was made on what is known as Tasting Copper claim. Development work on the ground has torn down old theories as to the length and breadth ot the ore body. Instead of being, as previous!- thought, 800 feet wide by 1200 feet" long, the bodv is reallv 3600 feet long by 1200 feet wide. This means millions of pounds more ore for Nevada Douglas. Stocks of the company in Boston to day sold for f.."0 a snare, and were hard to get. There is every indication. |
