Show THE TOO FINE WEATHER. Three weeks ago we were all scolding about the weather. It was cold and smoky, everybody had the influenza, and a good many impatient people were declaring that the reputation of Salt Lake City for a good climate had committed suicide. Now. there is another anxiety in the everlasting sunshine of the days and in the calm of the nights. There is great danger that the foliage will be badly damaged.xThe rose bushes, in exposed places, are already threatening to come out with) full buds. The fruit trees are the same way. The men who have orchards are in mortal fear lest the crops be destroyed de-stroyed this year, and the wiseacres are shaking their heads and savins: with a sisrh : "These are beautiful da.Ns and nights. -but we are goinp to pay for them in March and April and Hear up into May."' ; The records show that last year the coldest weather of the season was in March, ami that furnaces fur-naces had to be lighted late in June. The natural I conclusion is that in mountainous countries there I are great arieties in the seasons, but we cannot count upon what is going to be very long in advance, j The thing to do is to take a philosophical view and j agree to accept what comes -the beautiful weather I thankfully- the blizzards with what grace we can. |
