The organisation of a State League of Municipalities began this morning at a meeting of twenty-nine offldals of towns throughout the State In the Juvenile Juve-nile courtroom In the city and county building. The organisation is for the purpose of securing better and more uniform legislation in the various towns and the discussion of methods and improvements. im-provements. The meeting was presided over by Mayor Frisby of Provo, and Thomas McMaster of Brigham City wss temporary tempo-rary secretary. It wta called to order by Mayor Thompson, who in a short address ad-dress welcomed the offieiajs. The address ad-dress was responded to by Mayor E. M-Conroy M-Conroy of Ogden. Temporary Chairman Krisbv told of the objects of the league. Speeches along the same line were made bv Mayor E. W. Robinson of Logan and Mavor' Alma Eldredge. Upon a motion made by Mayor Con rov the following permanent committees were appointed py the chairman: Permanent Per-manent organization, Charles Brown. Mavor of Murrav: Alma eldredge of Coalville, Charles Miller of Provo. H. J. Sheffield of Kavsville, and James Mon-son Mon-son of Mt. Pleasant. Constitution and bv laws committee. Mayor Conroy, Peter Pe-ter Maughn, L. R. Anderson. W. H. Pft-tigrew Pft-tigrew and Robert Duke. After an informal in-formal discussion ss to the scope of the meeting the officers adjourned until 2 |
