Anxnstu Hetss of Bottt and the, balance of tha world, financier and on of tha few raal capulm of Industry, In-dustry, arrived In this city, and a short time later lunched with four or five local mining operators at a downtown cafe. As usual, when asked whether his visit here had any peculiar significance, Heinze remarked: " Nothing to say." And he didn't. The man who today holds more power in the mining industry and kindred commercialism than any other, is merely looking after his immense interests in this city, the center of his enormous holdings in Utah. Heiure is a great man, and his periodical peri-odical nights to 8alt Lake City are therefore deemed of greet importance. He is the mis who holds the balance of power, it is said, between the existing contention between the American Smelting Smelt-ing and Refining company and the Independents. In-dependents. Be it is who with his loyal followers, his marvelous hold on men, his strong personality, his Indomitable will, can do more, it Is claimed, to relieve present conditions in the smelting industry than any other force. For some time it has been known that Heinie is contemplating an organization organ-ization of independent smelting industries indus-tries and mining interests and when Heinte thinks about a thing and makes up his mind, something is going to happen, hap-pen, and happen quickly. Inquiry was made today at headquarters headquar-ters of "the Bingham Consolidated Mining Mi-ning company, which Heinie controls together with the Ohio Copper company com-pany and affiliated organizations, as to whether or not he planned any noteworthy note-worthy ehanges, but no information of ay kind concerning either his movements move-ments or his intentions, was given out. There is no doubt however, that Heinze will in the near future bring about a coup which will in a measure make for more harmony and peace in the mining and smelting industries of Utah. Eastern financiers watch his slightest movements like hawks, and what Ueinze does is debated upon and pondered over with great deliberation. |
