Show CHECK BABY AND SEE THE OPERA Winnipeg Parents in New Yorh Have No Trouble Getting Child Tagged in the Manhattan. An 18-monthe-old baby was checked In the women's cloakroom In the Manhattan opera-house last night. He la the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lewis of Winnipeg. They were strangers In New York, but had seats for "Rigoletto." They did not know where to leave ihelr baby, so asked the maid In the cloakroom to check the infant. The maid was duMoup. so she asked Hammerstwln as to this odd dlsposaj of the infant. The manager replied that certainly the child could be checked. Accordingly, the youngster was tagged and his parents proceeded to "take In" the performance. The child promptly fell asleep and slumbered until after the Tond act. By that time the members of the opera company had become so interested in-terested in him that he was taken into the business office, where he awoke and was the recipient of a general petting. |
