Show CITY NOT LIABLE FOR DAMAGES A "COP" INFLICTS The city cannot be held liable for damages inflicted on property by police po-lice officers while the officers are performing' per-forming' their duty. This is the judgment judg-ment of the Supreme court, expressed in a decision today in the case of Charles Gillmor against Salt Lake City. Police officers were sent last fall to the Jordan river to search for the body of a man who was supposed to have been drowned. Gillmor, who lives in the neighborhood, alleged that some of his trees were destroyed and his alfalfa al-falfa damaged b ythe use of dynamite. He sued for $614. |
