Show TELLS REMARKABLE STORY OF MIDNIGHT CLASH WITH HOLD-VP: .; ..-. - "It has a smell like a fish .store 'on a busy Friday," remarked a member of the police force after he had heard the story of Edwin Johanson, who lives I at 86S South State street, .when reported re-ported an attempted hold-up to th police po-lice yesterday. According to the story told by Johanson he and a man named Mikesell were on their way home early Sunday morning. When' near the eorner of State and Fifth South streets they noticed two men on the opposite . side of the titreet. . "At the corner they crossed over' to our side, and walked directly towards us. The men acted suspiciously and we wero prepared for trouble. Just before they reached us the taller of the two men exclaimed . 4 Nothing doing, - pal. ' 'Yes, there's something doing,' said I, and the next moment he went 4own with a thud. At the same time Mike-sell Mike-sell shoved the muzzle of a 'ill against the other' fellow '8 ribs. ' "The men pleaded that they meant no harm, and we allowed them to go.; I recognized one of them as a tough, character, and I believe that they have, been responsible for several hold-ups in that vicinity." .
