Show NO SHIPMENTS OF EXPRESS TO WEST IN A WEEK Not a pound of express matter has been handled to or from the Pacific eoast by the Wells-Fargo company in the last week, because of washouts on the Southern Pacific railroad. Business with the company is at a standstill. Agent Carey said today that he did not know when it would be resumed, as matters mat-ters in the road at the. present time were too unsettled. - This means a loss of thousands of dollars dol-lars to the Wells-Fargo company. That concern has the exclusive right to the express business in all territory reached by the Southern Pacific. Affairs at the local offices of the express company have been decidedly dull for the last seven daya. |
