Show STRIKE OF PAINTERS MAY DELAY MUCH CITY BUILDING NEW YORK, April 8. It is stated today that the strike of the Brotherhood Brother-hood of Painters for the new wage scale of $4 a day for plain painters and $4.50 a day for decorative painters, paint-ers, which has been ordered notwithstanding notwith-standing the arbitration agreement, is to be extended to all the contracts in other cities throughout the' country, ef members of the Master Painters' association, associ-ation, and the Interior Decorators and Cabinet-makers' associations. Twenty-five Twenty-five separate complaints of violations of the arbitration agreement have been filed with the general arbitration board, which is to meet tomorrow night to consider whether to rule the brotherhood brother-hood out of the board. Thr, if done, will be equivalent to a general lockout. lock-out. The general arbitration board is composed of three members from each association of employers in the Building Build-ing Trades Employers' association and three members of each union. |
