Show REVIVAL DISTURBERS TO WED, FOB PRIZES MOUNT QILEAD, O, April 8. The EviL. C. Buckner, paster of the county coun-ty huroh at Bethel, near here, .who recently had to close the revival meet- . inga he. was. conducting on aecoant of ' the " courting carried on by the young people and by their lack of good be- havicr. reached the conclusion that there might be an opportunity for a job lot of marriages, so last Sunday he made the following announcement: "That for eouples in his congregation congrega-tion who would get married he would offer a prize of $10 to the first pair, $5 to second and $2 to all after that" ! His efforts were most too liberally , rewarded to suit his income for since the offer was made eight eouples have ' notified him that they will tie up and two more pairs have the proposition ,' under consideration. The minister says ; that the eight pairs whose consent ne baa, will all be married at a public wedding, wed-ding, as soon as the date can be agreed upon. It is thought that the two other eouples will fall in line before the time ' eomee. |
