Show INCREASE SHOWS GROWTH Of CITY Postoffice Receipts for Feb. ruary Show Gain of 27 Per Cent Over the Same Month Last Year. Cities are rated by the United States Government more by their postoffice receipts- than perhaps by any other means. That's the, reason Postmaster Arthur Thomas Is Joyful these days, as he makes out his reports to Washington showing a remarkable increase in receipts for February of 1907 over the same month In 1906. From the sale of stamps the local post-office post-office derived this February $16,114.50; from postal cards, $520, and from envelopes, envel-opes, $5056.95, a total f $21,691.43 for the last month. During the same month laRt .year the postoffice received from stamps, $13.8R2: cards, $460. and envelopes, envel-opes, $2843.65, a total of $17,185.65. The Increase this year over February of 1906 Is $4505.78, or almost 27 per cent. |
