That a majority of warning tickets In fact, nearly one-flfth-r were Issued In Utah coUnty alone. MM Tickets Issued ' " The report, sent by the tax commission com-mission to the Utah traffic safety council, showed that from July 1 to September 39, a total of 115 warning tickets were Issued In the state. Of this number, 899 were given resident motorists and 25T were handed out-of-state drivers. ' Instead of "bawling out" a motorist mo-torist who msy not merit a ticket of arrest, an officer hands him a warning ticket. Of the 115 tickets Issued, nearly one-fifth, or 221, were given in Utah county. In Weber county, 142 were Issued. Ninety-two tick-ets tick-ets were Issued In Salt Lake county and 92 In Carbon county. Next in line was driving with Im-proper Im-proper lights 219 cases. Tickets for speeding numbered 137. There were 98 tickets Issued for disregarding disre-garding stop signs. . Most of the warning tickets given resident motorists were issued by state highway patrolmen. They accounted for 856. Police officers issued 31, sheriff's officers nine and town marshals three. In the case of tickets Issued nonresident non-resident motorists, speeding wss the most common offense, 197 violations vio-lations being listed. Next most numerous offense was ignoring stop signs, with 36 warning tickets Issued. Is-sued. Of the 257 tickets Issued to nonresident non-resident drivers, 256 were gives out by state patrolmen and one by a sheriffs officer. The 257 tickets listed 262 offenses. |
