Show ROCK WRECKS COAST TRAIN KLAMATH FALLS, Ore, Oct. 3 (UP) The Southern Pacific railroad rail-road today reported that the southbound south-bound Oregon lan, one of Its fast west coast passenger trains, ' had been wrecked near Grass Lake, CaL, about 45 miles south of Klamath Falls, when the locomotive locomo-tive struck a rock on the track. The company's report said eight cars and the engine were "lying on their sides, but added that no passengers or crewmen were believed be-lieved to have been Injured. .The cars derailed, the company aald, were a mail car, baggage car, two "deadheads" (empty cars), two coaches and two tourist sleepers. The four latter were occupied. The accident occurred about 8:45 a. m. Salt Lake time. A special wrecking train left Klamath Falls for the scene, which the company said was at the south end of Cougar Siding, 3.Tmlles south of Grass Lake. |
