Show Marker on Joseph Smith's Nauvoo Office Recovered A sign, used by the Prophet Joseph Smith, founder and first president of the L. D. S. church, was found in Hartford, Conn., by Roy W. Simmons of 57 C street. The lettering Is In yellow paint and varnished. Part of It Is blistered, blis-tered, and the back shows rust. "JOSEPH SMITH'S OFFICE" is in capitsl letters. The word "JESUS" is In capitalized scroll, while "Christ" Is both upper and lower case. The word "Latter" is capitalized, with "day" In lower case and "Saints" In both. Said to have been recovered by a souvenir collector at the time the church capltol at Nauvoo was ravaged, ths sign was in the possession pos-session of A. Kimball Page. In a wooden frame with glass, ths sign Is 14 Inches by four Inches on metal It reads: JOSEPH SMITH'S OFFICE President of the church of JESUS Christ of LATTER day Saints . .
