Show FRANK K.BAKER JiJL4 ' TELEGRAM SPORTS EDITOR I Inasmuch as Coach Ike Armstrong used 21 men in last week's 7-7 tie with Santa Clara, one can reasonably expect him to use upwards of 30 different players when the Redskins go into action against Wyoming here this week end. . Bill Stevens, the blocking man who didn't play against the Broncos, may be available for duty this week, and barring practice prac-tice injuries between now and Saturday every man on the squad will be available for duty. Neither team had any. casualties last week, emphasizing anew that old axiom that players are not nearly so apt to be injured when everybody is giving everything he has as they are when there is a tendency to let down and be less alert, less aggressive. ' v The fans who turn out for the Cowboy game will da so In happy expectation of seeing some new faces in the Ute line-up. A lot of customers are anxious to see Gay Adelt, the former East High school flash, in action. Others are interested in seeing what Jack Baldwin, the 168-pound center, can do in the way of carrying on the family tradition at center. His brother, Ernie, it will be remembered, was an all-conference center last year with the Utes. The. boy this observer is particularly eager to see in action is Paul Mars, the 145-pound sophomore guard from Grand Junction. Ever since he got into the varsity's var-sity's hair last year as a freshman, the rest of the squad has had a world of respect for the little fellow. His weight or lack of it puts definite limitations upon his possibilities, but the Ute mentor insists that for his pounds, Mars is one of the best prospects he has ever seen. Coach Armstrong was downright shocked when Carl Schleckman, the freshman coach, put the 145-pounder in the frosh line-up one day last season. . "Get that kid out of there. He'll get killed,' he said to Schleckman. Schleckman just grinned. "Don't waste your breath worrying worry-ing about him," he said. "Just tell your regulars to look out for themselves.' Ike shook his head dubiously but Mars stayed in the line-up. The varsity took the ball, and tried a if end run. Tried is the right term, too. . The ball carrier was dropped in his tracks. The tackier was the 145-pound Mars. It was the same thing on the next play. Wham, and little Mars was through the varsity line like a rabbit going through a briar patch. -.Arrostxocig. looked ,t-OptainBarneyMcGarrylh4 team's all conference tackle. "Can't yea stop that guy?" ho asked. Barney shrugged his shoulders. 1 might," lie said, "if I could only find him." - Just by way of proving that even we can't always be wrong, we offer the reminder that back in April, we picked the Yankees and Reds for the world series.
