Show RELIEF CAMPAIGN TO BE LAUNCHEDNEXT WEEK Mrs. John Q. Cannon, prominent civic welfare worker of Halt Lake, who has been appointed by Herbert Hoover to the chairmanship of Utah i for relief of children of central Ku j rope and the Near Kast. announced I today that she and her workers would launch ftreir eampaign eurly nest week. The headquarters will be on the mezzanine floor of the Hotel Utaii and all work of the central state committee com-mittee will be carried on there. The campaign to be conducted under un-der Mrs. Cannon's direction will be i for funds with which to feed the starving children of Kurope. of which there are more than 3.500,000. The sum of $10 will save the life of one of these children. Home of the leading men and women of the state will be included on Mrs. Cannon'a committee. She said today that because of the nature of the work she did not expect to experience much difficulty In raising Utah's quota. Following Is the telegram received by Mrs. Cannon from Mr. Hoover: "Most grateful fy your acceptance of the chairmanship joint state committee. com-mittee. Feel confident that under your leaderahip campaiirn will be conducted to most successful conclusion possible. "Following representatives have agreed to serve on the committee: Mrs. A. J. Gorham, 71 S Second avenue representing rep-resenting the T. W. C. A.; Daniel Alexander, Alex-ander, Deseret bank building, representing repre-senting the Jewish committee: K. C. Treanor. Felt building, and M. J. O'Connor, Ogden. representing the Knights of Columbus. "A most Important campaign should be commenced without further delay, but need not be concluded before February.
