White mentored the University of Utah freshmen in 1926; coached the Salt Lake City Cathedral high school (now Judge Memorial) tesm in 1927 and in 1928 and 1929 took charge of the Jerome, Idaho, high school team. In 1930, 1931, 1932, 1933. 1934, 1935 and 1936 he piloted the 8a-lida, 8a-lida, Colo, high school elevens and his teams won state championships cham-pionships in 1933, 1934 and 1935 and were runnrrs-up in 1932 and 1936. So far this year his team has won all but two of seven played on a schedule of eight. Nampa defeated Vale, Ore., 34 to 0; St. Joseph's of Boise, 12 to 0; Filer, 33 to 6; Rupert 32 to 0; tied Lewiston, 0 to 0, and was beaten by Pocatello, 12 to 6. "Pretty hard to say what our prospects next year will be," said White, "but we will keep five line regulars to offset the loss of our entire backfield. "It's 11 good men that have put us where we are this year." White's Thanksgiving day op- ' ponent has not been defeated in eight games. Only a 12-to-12 tie with Pocatello high school mars a perfect Boise -record. The Braves defeated La Grande, Ore., 12 to 0: Filer, 40 to 0; Twin Falls, 19 to 6; Caldwell, 32 to 7; Idaho Falls. 13 to 6; Vale, Ore., 38 to 0, and Emmett, 26 to 0. The Big Ten championship contest con-test generally is looked upon by sports observers as the outstanding game of the football season in secondary sec-ondary school circles. |
